At Curious Shapes we believe in the power built through connection & collaboration.

We are a campaigns and strategy collective working at the intersection of technology, human rights, and community organizing. We connect activists across borders, design creative campaigns that cut through the noise, and build the learning communities that sustain movements for the long haul.

What we do:

  • Design and implement creative advocacy campaigns that move people to action

  • Conduct collaborative research that informs strategy and measures impact

  • Build cross-border solidarity networks connecting movements and sharing strategies

  • Create learning communities where people develop practical skills for resistance and resilience

  • Provide strategic planning and evaluation support to organizations fighting surveillance, censorship, and authoritarianism

  • Deliver targeted trainings and design engaging events that build capacity and connection

  • Write, Create, Build, and Experiment! We’ve collaborated with creatives and activists around the world to produce interactive exhibitions, art shows, concerts, short films, graphic novels, blog series, and comedy nights. We believe effective campaigns and sustainable change are only possible with joy, creativity, humor, and cultivating genuine human connection.

Our mission extends beyond short-term programs and projects. We aim to create welcoming spaces for diverse experts to collaborate on creative advocacy and impactful programs. We work to develop innovative research approaches and evaluation methods to understand localized and contextualized challenges and refine goals for meaningful impact. By assisting organizations in developing long-term strategies, we bridge the gap between grassroots efforts and broader policy changes. We also seek to use these approaches and research to communicate complex and contextualized challenges to funders and other powerful stakeholders.

Driven by a commitment to evidence-based practices, our approach to research and evaluation integrates:

Human-centric research methodologies

Meticulous data collection and analysis

Qualitative and quantitative assessment

We are researchers, strategic communicators, catalyzers, community builders, storytellers, multimedia producers, fiction writers, and artists.
